MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of McAllen Parks & Recreation Department is looking for public input to name a new 23-acre nature park, located at 8701 N. 23rd Street.
According to the city, the park will offer kayaking, canoeing, fishing, walking trails, an archery range, a campsite, and other activities. Some features include boating and fishing piers, a gazebo, and a multi-purpose meadow.
"The 'Name Our New Park' survey represents a unique opportunity for our community to shape the identity of this exciting new addition to our city," said City Manager Isaac J. Tawil. "We value our residents' input and believe that their feedback will help us create a park that truly reflects the spirit and aspirations of our community."
The Parks & Recreation Department encourages residents to submit name suggestions that reflect the park's beauty and purpose for future generations.
The survey is available in English and Spanish and will be open from Jan. 17 through Jan. 31.
