McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A McAllen man has been sentenced for enticement of a minor and production of child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
In December 2023, Christian Hanks recorded himself with a minor.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, an investigation revealed that Hanks had been conversing with another minor in the Western District of Louisiana.
The investigation revealed years of communication between himself and the minor regarding further sexual abuse and requests to abuse the minor and other children.
Hanks has now been sentenced to over 33 years and 30 years for enticement and production of child pornography convictions, respectively. These sentences will run concurrently.
He was further ordered to serve 10 years on supervised release following the completion of his prison terms, the release stated.
During that time he must comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict his access to children and the internet. Hanks will also be ordered to register as a sex offender.
Hanks will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.
