MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Independent School District announced it will be operating the Community Eligibility Program under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-25 school year.
Under these programs, the district does not require students to pay for their meals and eliminated the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price and paid student meals.
"This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals," the district stated in a release.
