Man driving stolen vehicle from Houston, arrested in Lyford

LYFORD, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Willacy County deputies arrested a man they say was driving a stolen vehicle.

In a release from the Willacy County Sheriff's Office, Alexsander Gervacio, 20, was charged with unauthorized use of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

After getting a stolen vehicle alert, deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday along southbound Interstate 69 and Spur 112 on a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado.

Deputies later identified the driver of the stolen Silverado as Gervacio. Houston Police confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen.

Gervacio was booked at the Willacy County Sheriff's Office. 

Authorities impounded the stolen truck for Houston investigators.
