BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested for allegedly assaulting two men with a blunt force object, deputies say.
Santiago Rodriguez, 42, also known as "Shaggy", was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, according to a news release from the Cameron County Sheriff's Office.
On Aug. 8, deputies responded to an assault involving multiple people at the 2200 block of Avenida Nannette.
At the scene, two men, age 24 and 25, were taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries during the assault. The victims reported they were assaulted with a blunt object by a man they identified as "Shaggy," the release stated.
Deputies later learned, that "Shaggy" was Rodriguez, who was also admitted to the hospital with minor injuries.
During an investigation, deputies learned Rodriguez had assaulted the victims with a "blunt force object" causing serious bodily injury.
On Friday, Aug. 30, Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Carrizalez Rucker Detention Center.
