SAN JUAN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The 21st annual Cesar Chavez March was held this weekend in San Juan.
The march was held on Saturday at the La Union del Pueblo Entero Headquarters, where LUPE, members, community, and organizations marched 2.3 miles.
"This is the opportunity that the members have once a year to stand up against the racist rhetoric that is being used by politicians today," said Tania Chavez-Camacho, president and executive director of LUPE.
Chavez-Camacho added, that the march helps the community and elected officials to come together as one.
