Los Fresnos CISD Superintendent nominated as State Superintendent of the Year

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral)— The Superintendent of Schools for Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District has been named one of five state finalists for the Superintendent of the Year award.

The annual competition, by the Texas Association of School Boards, will take place in September at TX EDCON 2024 in San Antonio. Gonzalo Salazar, Los Fresnos CISD Superintendent, will be representing Region One at the competition.

Salazar has served as superintendent of Los Fresnos CISD since 2006. Salazar was nominated for regional superintendent of the year by the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees and was honored as the Region One ESC nominee in June 2024.
