Lockdown lifted after incident near Economedes high school

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A lockdown has been lifted after an incident occurred near Johnny Economedes High School, officials said.

ValleyCentral spoke with Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District officials, who said an incident happened in the vicinity of the school.

According to officials, the lockdown went into effect around 4:30 p.m. and was lifted nine minutes later.

City officials stated there is no active shooter, and no injuries reported. District officials stated that all students are safe.
