Legendary children’s advocate Luisa Saenz has secured $35.9 million in grants for RGV nonprofits

MCALLEN, Texas – Luisa Saenz is a retired children’s advocate and grant writer. She is perhaps best known as the former leader of the Children’s Defense Fund-RGV.

But, Saenz has done so many other things in her varied career, including working in the import-export industry. Her skills as a grant writer have yielded $35.9 million for various Rio Grande Valley non-profit organizations over the years.

In this exclusive podcast, Saenz talks about some of the projects she worked on. Currently, she helps students at Valley View High School secure placements at top universities.
