EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) and Los Lagos Development broke ground Friday on Plaza Guerlain, a mixed-use development project.
Plaza Guerlain will feature retail, dining, multifamily housing, and electric vehicle infrastructure, representing a $22.6 million investment expected to create 180 jobs in Edinburg.
"This is a reflection of all that is happening here in our city," said Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. "Particularly here in this part of town that has been growing very very rapidly and with all the rooftops that we have here it only makes sense that we have now the commercial development that's now coming on board so we're excited about it and we're again very grateful to the project development team."
The project incorporates multifamily housing and two EV charging stations, highlighting Edinburg's commitment to sustainable growth.
Strategically located near Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium, Plaza Guerlain is designed to serve as the centerpiece of a new entertainment district.
The development aims to create a vibrant destination where residents, students, and visitors can live, work, and gather.
