Large crowd attends Easter Sunday mass at San Juan Basilica

SAN JUAN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Hundreds of families gathered at the Basilica of Our Lady San Juan to show their faith during Easter Sunday mass.

Attendees explained Easter Sunday is a day where they want to show their faith.

"He gave a lot for us, and it's up to us to offer the same in return," said mass attendee, Pablo Trevino. "We should do that on a daily basis."

The San Juan Basilica is one of 72 total national shrines in the United States that welcomes people from all over the world.

Adelina Lopez, a Round Rock resident, enjoys visits to the Basilica when traveling to the Rio Grande Valley.

"I came to visit my mom for the holiday," Lopez said. "We love to come to the Basilica."

The Resurrection of the Lord mass was led by the Bishop of Brownsville, Daniel E. Flores.
