HPD: Woman attempts to jump on train, severs legs

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman attempted to jump on a train and got her legs cut off when she failed to make the jump, according to Harlingen police.

The accident happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. off of 9th Street and Jefferson Avenue in Harlingen.

Police say the Guatemalan woman was in her 20s and was transported to the hospital.

She is in surgery but the details of her condition are unknown at this time.
