MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — For the first time in Sharyland Independent School District history, all students will be able to receive free meals for the 2024-2025 school year.
Sharyland ISD will now operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) which allows schools to serve free breakfast and lunch to all students at no cost.
The new program aims to reduces financial burdens for families and school administrators while helping make sure that students receive nutritious meals.
Sharyland ISD has 13 schools including one academic academy, two high schools, two middle schools and eight elementary schools.
Students at all 13 schools will be eligible for the free meal program.
The first day of school at Sharyland ISD is Monday, August 19.
