HCSO: Suspect identified in neighbor gunfire dispute

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office identified the man accused of shooting his neighbor during a dispute.

Jose Cruz Rojas, 20, from Weslaco, is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of deadly conduct.

Authorities say Rojas was in a dispute with his neighbor which led to him shooting multiple rounds in the ground, one of which struck his neighbor's ankle.

The neighbor was transported to a local hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  

Rojas remains at large.
