EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two men accused of murder are being arraigned Monday afternoon, Hidalgo County deputies announced.
Jesus Grijalva and Samuel Uvalle Sr. were arrested over the weekend in connection to the death and were charged with murder in the first degree, according to a release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Eddie Guerra said that on May 13, deputies received a call of a possible homicide. During the call, investigators were told a missing person had been killed at a residence on the 1300 block of Morningset Road in San Juan.
The reporting party told deputies the body had been moved and buried in another location near the 4600 block of Wisconsin Road.
Investigators secured search warrants on both properties.
On Friday, the HCSO's Major Crimes Unit executed a search at a residence in Edinburg where human remains were found.
Investigators identified the suspects as 43-year-old Jesus Grijalva, 35-year-old Roberto Salas and 47-year-old Samuel Uvalle Sr, a news release stated.
Grijalva was arrested Friday and Uvalle was arrested on Sunday. Investigators secured a murder warrant for Salas, who remains at large.
“At this time we believe that a murder took place inside the residence in San Juan and the San Juan Police Department is joining us in this investigation,” Guerra said.
