Harlingen celebrates annual Lighting of the Arroyo

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The city of Harlingen Parks and Recreation announced the 38th annual Lighting of the Arroyo on Dec. 5.

The event will feature cheerleaders, choirs, local artists, food vendors, and Santa Claus.

If attending the public is advised to arrive early to avoid traffic and to dress comfortably. Parking will be available at the Elks Lodge, and carpooling is recommended.

The event is a significant community gathering that ushers in the holiday season, with performances from local school children and family-friendly activities.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McKelvey Park.
