Food Bank RGV receives $75K grant from AEP

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley has received a $75,000 grant from the American Electric Power (AEP) Foundation.

According to the food bank, the grant aims to supplement its 2024-focused food assistance to low-income and underserved population groups. The food bank will use these funds to provide a variety of emergency food assistance programs to ensure all of our neighbors, regardless of their background, have access to nourishing and nutritious food.

“The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life for people in the communities where AEP and its operating units serve and where AEP employees live and work,” said Gilbert Hughes, AEP Texas Vice President of External Affairs.
