DONNA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested at the Donna Port of Entry after he was caught with heroin and cocaine, court documents show.

Jonathan Luna was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, according to records.

On June 3, Luna was pulled aside for secondary inspection while driving a 2007 Dodge Caravan. During the inspection, officers discovered 12 bundles that were concealed within the vehicle.

Of those, seven of the bundles tested positive for cocaine, with an approximate weight of 16 pounds. The other five bundles tested positive for heroin and weighed approximately 7 pounds, according to a criminal complaint.

In his interview, Luna stated he thought the vehicle did not contain illegal narcotics and thought he was going to Houston to bring currency back to Mexico, the document stated.

Luna added that he was going to be paid $5,000 upon successful delivery of currency he was asked to obtain in Houston and bring back to Mexico, the complaint stated.

He remains held in federal custody without bond.
