Edinburg's Hometown of Heroes half-marathon set for March 3

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Edinburg will hold its annual Hometown of Heroes Half-Marathon on March 3.

The city said during this special event, 13 local heroes, from teachers and military heroes to first responders, will be honored at each mile marker.

The event will feature the 13.1-mile individual half marathon and a new 5.5-mile individual race.

The half-marathon is open to participants of all age groups and the scenic course will showcase prominent landmarks such as H-E-B Park, Municipal Park, Jackson Road Hike n’Bike Trail, UTRGV, McIntyre Promenade, and others.

The event is scheduled for 7 a.m. at 315 E. Mark S. Peña Dr.
