Edinburg PD: One arrested in motorcycle hit-and-run

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person has been arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident after striking a motorcyclist, according to the Edinburg Police Department.

The hit-and-run happened at 9:20 p.m., Tuesday, April 2 at the intersection of McColl Road and West Chapin Street.

Preliminary reports from Edinburg police say a vehicle allegedly struck a motorcycle and left the scene.

A witness at the scene followed the suspected vehicle and assisted Edinburg police to trace the suspect at a residence nearby where they were arrested by police.

The injured motorcyclist was provided immediate first aid at the scene of the crash. Police did not provide the condition of the motorcyclist.

This is the second hit-and-run in the Edinburg area this week that involves a motorcycle.
