DPS: Weslaco man dies in rollover crash, two hospitalized

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on Sunday.

According to DPS at 6:59 a.m. on Goolie Road north of El Dora Road in Donna, a 2017 gray GMC Acadia, occupied by two males and one female passenger was traveling northbound on Goolie Road at a high rate of speed.

The initial investigation showed the occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts. The GMC veered off the roadway towards the east side, rolled over, and ejected two passengers.

All passengers were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Luis Orlando Martinez, 27, a resident of Weslaco, and a passenger in the vehicle died from his injuries at the hospital.

DPS Troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
