DPS: Man killed in auto-pedestrian crash

SAN CARLOS, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash.

The incident occurred at 6:13 a.m. on Saturday along State Highway 107 - west of 84th Street.

A preliminary investigation by DPS revealed the victim was walking southbound on SH 107. Video shows the man appearing to be crossing the street when he was hit by a red/maroon passenger car going eastbound on SH 107.

Authorities say the driver failed to report the crash and fled the scene where the victim died.

Deputies have identified the suspect's vehicle as a 1997 to 2002 red/maroon Ford Escort.
