HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — On Jan. 19 TikTok voluntarily went dark and shut down its U.S. servers, ahead of the ban.
However, the following morning many users were welcomed back by the app following President Trump's 75-day ban reversal.
According to the Associated Press, President Trump instructed the U.S. Attorney General to not enforce the ban for 75 days while his administration determines the appropriate shutdown of TikTok.
Many users were excited about having the app back and running, but others regretted deleting it after finding out they could not re-download it.
Even though the ban is at a 75-day halt, the app can not be re-downloaded on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Additionally, it cannot be updated. This includes updates to CapCut and Lemon8.
Following the ban, some iPhone users are selling their phones that have the app installed for thousands of dollars on eBay.
There are listings up to $4,000 for iPhones that include TikTok and CapCut.
Users can log into their TikTok profiles through Safari, Chrome, and other web browsers and use the app there.
