Comptroller’s Office soliciting second round of grant applications for BOOT program

2 months ago 77

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar says it is the intention of his agency to solicit a second round of grant applications for the Bringing Online Opportunities to Texas (BOOT) Program.

Hegar said the BOOT II program will focus on further closing the digital divide in Texas by supporting broadband infrastructure projects that bring high-speed, reliable internet service to all eligible locations within 24 selected counties across the state.

Funded by the federal Capital Projects Fund and state revenue, BOOT II aims to bring reliable broadband service to over 97,000 locations in the state.

The BOOT II program’s Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was published on the Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) within TXSmartBuy.

Hegar said that after reviewing the NOFA, potential applicants will have until 2:00 p.m. on July 19, 2024 to submit questions and request clarifying information about the solicitation.

Hegar said the Texas Broadband Development Office, which comes under the auspices of the Comptroller’s Office, will provide responses in a timely fashion and may make any necessary updates to the solicitation through the addendum process.

All questions pertaining to the NOFA must be submitted to BDO.NOFA@cpa.texas.gov before the deadline.

“We appreciate your continued support and attention to this matter.”
