MCALLEN, Texas – Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate of McAllen has announced a merger with Brownsville-based Nexus Real Estate.

Jason Waugh, president of Coldwell Banker Affiliates, says the move further expands the Coldwell Banker brand in the Rio Grande Valley, pointing out that this is the first expansion effort by Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate since joining the Coldwell Banker system in 2000.

“Growth is essential in any business, and Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate is a powerhouse in the South Texas region, so this expansion is no surprise. This move will further strengthen the Coldwell Banker presence in South Texas, and we welcome all the new sales professionals to the Gen Blue network,” Waugh said.

Coldwell Banker Commercial will be establishing a presence in the Brownsville market with an office location at 1655 Ruben Torres Boulevard, Waugh explained.

Daniel Galvan, president of Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate, said Nexus Real Estate has a proven, 19-year track record in the Brownsville area, holding steady market share for well over a decade under the leadership of Diana Villarreal Bakalem. He said the current Nexus Real Estate office will soon be the second Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate office in the Rio Grande Valley.

“We are clearly in growth mode and today’s announcement is another positive sign of the viability of this region’s economic future. We are very excited about this new phase in our company’s development. We are committed to ensuring that all our clients receive the best imaginable service and that our agents are afforded every opportunity to maximize their business potential,” Galvan said.

Galvan said Coldwell Banker La Mansion Real Estate now has approximately 75 associates and brokers across the RGV.

Villarreal Bakalem, president of Nexus Real Estate, issued this statement about the merger:

“We are excited about this new chapter for our company. Having been in the industry since 2004, we are excited to see what change this brings and we are thrilled by this new partnership. We are confident that this merger will only reinforce and expand our company’s growth. The future of the Rio Grande Valley looks very bright.”
