City of Palmview opens first municipal library

PALMVIEW, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Palmview opened its first municipal library on Saturday.

The grand opening was held at 505 Palmview Commercial Drive and was followed by appearances from two Rio Grande Valley authors.

This is the city's first public library since it was incorporated in 1972.

City officials believe this is an important community resource center that will promote education and literacy.

Programs such as GED, citizenship, and ESL classes will be provided in the library for residents.
