Charro Days soccer match returning to Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Festivities for Charro Days 2025 are right around the corner.

The annual celebration will be held next week with several events leading up to the Charro Days Fiesta Parade.

Sports fans can anticipate the return of the soccer match between FC Brownsville and the Gavilanes FC Matamoros Futbol Club.

This year will be the second annual Charro Days soccer match.

"Charro Days has always been one of the best times of the year to to be in Brownsville and last year, we were privileged enough to add this game," said Rolando Gonzalez Sierra, co-owner of FC Brownsville.

Sierra says his team is in training for the upcoming game.

The game will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at the Brownsville Sports Park, located on 1000 Sports Park Blvd.

"We invite everyone to come out. It's going to be a great family event and we hope to see you there cheering," Sierra continued.
