CCSO search for wanted man involved in 2013 double homicide

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man who is wanted for a 2013 double homicide is on the run, the Cameron County Sheriff's Office announced.

Mario Gonzalez San Roman is wanted for the murders of Homero de los Santos and Lorena Gonzalez.

CCSO: Second suspect arrested in Cameron Park gunpoint robbery

On June 20, 2013, Santos and Gonzalez were found dead at a residence, located at the 2300 block of Highway 281, according to a news release from CCSO.

Investigators say both victims had been "pummeled to death" by San Roman. The investigation revealed San Roman, went to Mexico after committing the murders.

Authorities say San Roman made threats that he would one day return and is believed to be still hiding in Mexico.
