BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One of Cameron County's most wanted fugitives is arrested, deputies say.

Jose Carlos Ibarra, also known as Martin Tello, had outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, a first-degree felony and violating duty to register as a sex offender, a third-degree felony, a news release from the Cameron County Sheriff's Office stated.

Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash in Harlingen

At 12:58 on Saturday, deputies were called to a bar, located at the 900 block of W. Price Road, regarding a wanted man at the location.

At the scene, authorities approached the man, who was pointed out as Ibarra, and proceeded to escort him out of the bar.

The release stated, while patting him down, they found a plastic baggy containing cocaine. When asked for his identity, Ibarra falsely identified himself as Martin Tello.

Harlingen daycare releases statement after incident leaves 15-month-old in critical condition

Authorities conducted a fingerprint scan, where he was revealed as Ibarra and was booked into Carrizalez Rucker Detention Center.

He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and failing to identify/fugitive from justice.
