PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The United States Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana.
On June 17, a tractor-trailer attempted to enter the United States from the Pharr International Bridge, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
During a vehicle inspection, CBP officers found 1,267 packages containing alleged marijuana hidden within the shipment. The packages weighed a total of 1,455 and had a street value of more than $291,000.
CBP officers seized both the narcotics and vehicle, the release stated.
