PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The United States Customs and Border Protection seized more than $5.1 million worth of methamphetamine.

On Sunday, CBP officers referred a trailer at the Pharr International Bridge carrying a shipment of cucumbers and bell peppers to a secondary inspection, a news release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated.

‘We went out the night before’: Couple arrested after leaving 3 children unattended

During the inspection, officers found 360 packages of methamphetamine hidden within the trailer. The packages weighed a total of 577.61 lbs and had a street value of $5,163,496.

CBP officers seized the narcotics and Homeland Security initiated a criminal investigation.
