Bean the Cat author earns multiple awards, will head to NYC for ceremony

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Author Rey Banda's book "Bean's New Home" has won four awards and earned a Five-Star rating from Readers' Favorite.

Banda said, "That book is based on how I rescued Bean back in 2010. The sequel, "Bean Saves the Day", has won a whopping 15 awards and earned two Five-Star ratings from Readers' Favorite.

Both books won First Place in the Latino Book into Movie Awards in 2020 in the category of Cartoon/Animated TV Series. It is just a matter of time before I get the phone call about it being made into a cartoon or TV series.

Back in 2022, it won the International Impact Book Awards in the category of Pets and Animals. I recently went to Phoenix for their ceremony to give past winners an official trophy."

Banda added he will be going to New York City in June for another ceremony for the NYC Big Book Award and Independent Press Award.

The ceremonies had been delayed due to the pandemic.
