HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) -- The high school football season got underway in the Rio Grande Valley with a handful of Thursday night games.

In the marquee match up of the night, Brownsville Veterans, which reached the state semifinals last year, beat PSJA Memorial, 34-3.
