4Ever Family: Abigail

5 months ago 124

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Every week, CBS 4 works to find a forever home for a Rio Grande Valley foster child as part of our “4Ever Family” partnership with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

14-year-old Abigail has many things she likes to do, such as singing, painting, and drawing, but topping her list of priorities is becoming a part of her forever family.

Abigail enjoys school where she is making A’s & B’s. Her favorite subjects are science, history, reading, and English.

Abigail is already looking forward to her educational future and is currently interested in attending one of two Texas Universities, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, or the University of Houston, to obtain a degree in the medical field. (children who are adopted from the State of Texas foster care program are eligible for the college tuition waiver program, where they can attend a State of Texas school, tuition-free).

On the sports field, Abigail suits up for volleyball, softball, and basketball, but, to watch a game on the big screen, it's basketball, more specifically the LA Lakers.

Abigail’s hobbies include practicing her culinary talents baking and cooking. For relaxation time, she enjoys watching the TV shows Grey's Anatomy and Vampire Dairies, she is also a big fan of the Twilight movie series.

Abigail would like a mother whom she can do her nails, hair and make-up with and a father who can teach her how to ride a horse. She would like to be a part of a family where she can be a big sister to siblings, attend church on Sundays, and together with her forever family, visit a theme park, and care for a pet dog.
