BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman was arrested at the Cameron County Courthouse last week for possession of amphetamine drugs, according to the Cameron County Sheriff's Office.
Allison Renae Wheeler was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a security screening revealed she was in possession of the synthetic drugs.
According to the CCSO, Wheeler walked through the security screening and placed her personal belongings in the security inspection bowl.
As she was emptying her pockets, a deputy saw Wheeler put down a clear plastic bag with a rocky substance inside.
Wheeler then immediately took the plastic bag and tried to hide it back in her pocket, authorities say.
The deputy took notice of Wheeler's attempt to put the plastic bag in her pocket but instructed her to put it back in the security bowl.
Wheeler complied with the deputy after several attempts.
She was then detained for officer safety reasons then arrested for violation of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
Authorities tested the rocky substance which came back positive for amphetamines.
Wheeler was transported to Carrizales Rucker Detention Center where she is awaiting arraignment.
