Alan's Lids brings custom cowboy hats blending tradition, innovation

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Eric Sanchez and Ivan from Alan's Lids, a Western wear hat shop based in Crowley, Texas, discussed their custom cowboy hat services.

Alan's offers hats for men, women, and children, with prices ranging from $165 to $200 for straw hats and $400 to $1,200 for felt hats.

While at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show, Alan's is open from noon to 9 p.m.

Eric and Ivan want to emphasize the importance of proper maintenance for straw hats using sponges and horse brushes. They also highlighted the cultural blend of Western, Tejano, and Mexican influences in their customer base.

If you are ever in Crowley, their store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday also from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
