Woman found shot, dead at McAllen convenience store, 1 in custody

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman was found dead in the parking lot of a convenience store earlier today, according to McAllen police.

Lt. Joel Morales with the McAllen Police Department, said the woman suffered a gunshot wound and was found at 5:12 p.m. at the 2300 block of Maple Ave.

The suspect in this case has been detained. Charges are pending at this time.

Police say this is a homicide investigation.
