WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Weslaco softball will receive its UIL state championship rings on Friday night during halftime of the PSJA vs. Weslaco football game.
It's been a celebration for the Lady Panthers since the dramatic walk-off grand slam from Andrea Ortiz, and it will be capped off with a ring ceremony at Bobby Lackey Stadium on Oct. 25.
Athletics Director and Head Football Coach Roy Stroman said, "Come out to the game. We're going to have a great presentation. We will present our softball team with state championship rings, so I expect this place to be packed since our softball team did a tremendous job."
The ceremony will commence during halftime of the football game, which is expected to begin at 8:30 p.m.
