Weslaco City Commission Meeting - March 4, 2026

CITIZEN ALERT: The Commission will consider doubling the City Manager's independent purchasing authority and increasing cemetery fees for non-residents.

• Reports: Updates from the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation.
• Annexation: Second reading of Ordinance 2026-09 for the annexation of the Gilberto Subdivision area.
• Public Safety Grants: Approval of multiple Homeland Security and Operation Stonegarden grants totaling over $2,000,000 for surveillance equipment, vehicles, and overtime.
• Policy Change: Discussion to amend the Purchasing Policy Manual to increase the City Manager's purchasing authority from $25,000 to $50,000.
• Infrastructure: Approval of $334,000 for paving projects on 8th Street, 10th Street, Esplanada Street, Palmas Street, and Pino Street.
