WCSO: Man arrested on 6 warrants, 4 new charges

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Willacy County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Monday who was wanted on six warrants.

According to the sheriff's office, an anonymous tip about a man later identified as James Michael Aleman, 30, was received.

Deputies patrolled the location and observed a man matching Aleman's description walking east on La Jara Ave. in Lyford who deputies recognized as Aleman.

Shortly after, Aleman ran towards Chapote Ave. and a foot pursuit began. He was shortly after caught in a nearby alleyway.

After his capture, Aleman was found with drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was arrested and transported to the Willacy County Jail without incident.

The warrants Aleman was wanted for are:

  • failure to identify fugitive from justice (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • criminal mischief > =$100<$750 (Class B Misdemeanor)
  • assault causes bodily injury (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine) (State Jail Felony)
  • assault public servant (3rd Degree Felony)
  • possession controlled substance PG 3 <28G (Class A Misdemeanor)

Aleman is facing new charges including:

  • possession of controlled substance PG1 >=4G<200G (2nd Degree Felony),
  • possession of controlled substance PG 2-A <= 2OZ (Class B Misdemeanor).
  • evading arrest detention (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • possession of drug paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)
