WCSO: Man arrested for driving stolen vehicle

LYFORD, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Willacy County deputies arrested a man accused of stealing a car from a residence.

Johnny Anthony Flores, 46, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to a news release from the Willacy County Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday, deputies received a report of a stolen silver 2003 Ford Taurus from a residence on Dario Street.

While patrolling the area deputies they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description and license plates traveling southbound on Business 77.

The Willacy County Sheriff's Office Telecommunications Division confirmed to authorities it was the stolen vehicle.

The driver was later identified as Flores and booked into the Willacy County Sheriff's Jail.

This is an ongoing investigation.
