SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Christmas came early for one pre-K student at Rangerville Elementary School.

Reagan Guerra, a pre-K student in Mrs. Aparicio's class, has been separated from her uncle, Mark Anthony Santillan, a Private in the U.S. Army, for three months.

"She was always saying how she missed me and when am I coming home," Santillan. "Those were the ones that just hit me. I started tearing up a little bit."

On Thursday afternoon, the administration at Rangerville Elementary School gathered in the cafeteria to bring Reagan the one thing she wanted for Christmas, to see her uncle.

Santillan was excited to surprise his niece. The two have an obvious string bond.

When the curtains of the school cafeteria pulled back, and Reagan saw her uncle, she immediately ran into his arms and began to cry.

Santillan said while he was away, he made sure to call home. He said he would always reassure his niece that he would be home soon.

Santian will be home for the next two weeks. During that time he plans to spend some well deserved quality time with his family and is most looking forward to having a BBQ.
