HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen community gathered Monday to celebrate the grand opening of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux.
Walk-On's is Harlingen's newest bar that highlights a family-friendly atmosphere that caters to sports fans, beer lovers and foodies.
The new location was welcomed to the Harlingen area with a celebration by leaders of the community including Harlingen Mayor Norma Sepulveda, firefighters and local youth sports teams.
Cheerleaders and football players from Harlingen high schools recreated the excitement of a football game day by running through a Walk-On's banner and chanting to celebrate the sports bar's grand opening.
“We are excited to bring our unique brand of Cajun-inspired cuisine and sports entertainment to Harlingen,” said Jennifer Striepling, Walk-On’s Chief Development Officer. “We are delighted to welcome guests to our Harlingen restaurant and become a part of this vibrant community.”
Harlingen Walk-On’s franchisees Walid Haidar and Norberto De La Garza officially welcomed guests with a ribbon cutting to the newest dining and sports bar.
“We are honored to join the Harlingen community," said Haidar, Walk-On’s franchisee. “We look forward to creating lasting memories with our guests and making a positive impact in the local community.”
The new entertainment spot features a sports bar, multiple big-screen TVs for game-day viewing and a large patio area for outdoor dining.
Walk-On's is now open, located on 97 Bass Pro Drive in Harlingen.
