Vehicle engulfed in flames following accident, police say

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is investigating a Thursday night single-vehicle accident.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, authorities, including the Edinburg Fire Department, responded to a major single-vehicle accident at the 200 block of S. Expressway 281.

According to a news release from the City of Edinburg, the driver was able to get out before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with no major injuries.

The cause of the fire and accident are still under investigation.
