Valley native strives for spot at Paris 2024 Olympics

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) – Rio Grande Valley native and McAllen High School graduate Shaine Casas is one step closer to earning a spot at the Paris Olympics. 

Casas qualified for the finals of the 200-individual medley at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The former Bulldog won his semifinal heat with a time of 1:57.87. 

The finals for the 200 IM will be held Friday night.
