EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — More than 2,700 graduates from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will be walking the stage and getting their degree this weekend.
UTRGV's Fall 2024 Commencement began its first ceremony Friday morning at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.
A total of four ceremonies will take place during the two-day event to recognize students by their respective college and major.
The two-day event began by recognizing students in the College of Liberal Arts.
A second ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. Friday which will recognize students with the College of Health Professions, School of Nursing and School of Social Work.
The commencement will continue at 10 a.m. Saturday to recognize the College of Fine Arts, College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
A fourth and final ceremony will close the event to recognize the College of Education and P-16 Integration and the College of Sciences.
The fourth ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.
All four ceremonies will be livestreamed online.
