UTRGV extends hours in wake of financial aid deadline

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is extending its U Central hours in the wake of financial aid deadlines approaching.

Beginning Saturday, U Central will offer longer hours for both students on the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses.

Extended hours are as follows:

• Saturday, Aug. 17: 9 a.m. 1 p.m.
• Monday Wednesday, Aug. 19 21: 8 a.m. 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 24: 9 a.m. 1 p.m.
• Monday Thursday, Aug. 26 29: 8 a.m. 6 p.m.

Extended hours are available for all call centers, chat, email, and in-person inquiries.

Additionally, the university Financial Aid Office will host an in-person support sessions for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The support sessions are available at both the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses, and will help students who need to provide additional information to complete their 2024-2025 FAFSA for Fall 2024.

The session in Brownsville will be located at, U Central at The Tower Main 1.100. In Edinburg, the session will take place at U Central in the Student Service Building, on the first floor.
