UCAS gives free haircuts to students at back-to-school event

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A new school year is the opportunity for students to start fresh.

The University of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences is giving back to the community this upcoming back-to-school season by offering free haircuts to students.

All UCAS locations hosted the event to help families cover the cost of haircuts and for students to be ready for their first day of school.

"Back-to-school is super important. All the parents are trying their best to get their students ready and groomed and looking good for the first day of class to kind of boost that confidence," said Maria Del Angel, Admissions Advisor of UCAS Harlingen.

The back-to-school event is one of UCAS' largest events of the year, rounding up hundreds of students at all locations.

UCAS has a total of four locations Valleywide including McAllen, La Joya, Harlingen, Brownsville and two locations in San Antonio.
