TxDOT releases top Valley cities with DUI crashes

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — New data from the Texas Department of Transportation shows July and August are the two deadliest months of the year for drunk driving crashes.

Last year there were over 1,200 DUI related car crashes, with 32 of them being deadly.

One hundred and ten ended with people getting hurt.

The most drunk driving crashes were reported in the following three cities:

• Pharr with 59
• Edinburg with 92
• McAllen with nearly 200 crashes

TxDOT is rolling out its, "Drive sober, no regrets" campaign, urging drivers to stay off the roads.
