TxDOT: Parts of Ed Carey Drive will temporarily close for emergency repairs

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A portion of Ed Carey Drive in Harlingen will be closed starting Wednesday night.

The roadway will be closed in order for Harlingen Water Works to replace a collapsed sewer line.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the roadway north of the railroad tracks along U.S. Business 77 to Glasscock Avenue will be closed off.

The emergency repairs are expected to be complete by 4 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 14.

TxDOT is asking drivers to take alternate routes until the road re-opens.
